 Laura Oakes

When it’s normal for mealtime conversations to be conducted in three-part harmony, it was only natural for Laura Oakes to go through life singing. Her love for Dolly Parton, David Gates and the Dixie Chicks may seem an unusual music taste for a teenager from Liverpool, North West England but it’s lead to Laura becoming a core part of the British Country music scene winning multiple British Country Music Awards (2 consecutive years for Best Female vocalist of the years) supporting the likes of The Shires, Ward Thomas, Hudson Taylor and playing some of the UK’s best festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, Conrbury, Camp Bestival and Summertyne Americana Festival to name just a few.

With radio support from the likes of Bob Harris (BBC Radio 2), Janice Forsyth (BBC Scotland), Billy Butler (BBC Radio Merseyside), and the team at Amazing Radio, Laura’s self-penned songs took her on a UK tour in September of 2017 ahead of her ‘Nashville Stole Your Girl’ - Acoustic EP release which was well received by the Americana and UK Country media.
