Ever wanted to get really close to a bird of prey? Or wondered why different owls have different eye colours? Come along to The Feathery Folk stand and find out. In our Discovery Area theres lots of information about these fascinating birds. You can have a go at our quiz and/or baby owl matching game, as well as investigating an owl pellet to see what a Barn owl eats.
Alongside this we have our Craft Area where kids of all ages (including parents!) can create gorgeous owl masks with feathers, colour, glitter and jewels. Every child who visits us receives an activity pack which doubles up as a great way of storing the mask till you get home, to save covering your car with glitter! Its also handy to keep any other small Geronimo goodies in! All activities are free.
There will be two flying demonstrations in our mini-arena alongside our stand where Libby Cooper (business owner) will talk about each bird she is flying and answer any questions you might have. There may also be a chance for some audience participation.
There will be opportunities throughout the day to handle a bird of prey but this will be limited to 25 spaces per session, which may have to be booked beforehand. We care a lot about our birds and this is to ensure we do not over-tire them.
